After School Matters is looking for volunteers to serve as greeters for teens and guests at our upcoming Regional Photo and Multimedia Show, featuring artwork made by our teens. It is a really fun way to give back to the community and congratulate Chicago teens on all of their hard work!
Location: National Veteran's Art Museum- 4041 North Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, IL 60641
Date & Time: August 1, 2014 - from 1pm-5pm
Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must feel comfortable talking to and directing teens and guests
About After School Matters: After School Matters provides Chicago high school teens with high quality, out-of-school time opportunities to explore and develop their talents while gaining critical skills for work, college and beyond. Over the past two decades, more than 200,000 teens have participated in our hands-on, project-based after-school and summer programs in the arts, science, sports, technology and communications. Programs take place at locations throughout the city including Chicago public high schools, Chicago Park District and Chicago Public Library locations, community-based organizations and Downtown at the Gallery 37 Center for the Arts.

We achieve our mission by: Designing and delivering high quality, hands-on, project-based apprenticeship programs in a variety of content areas, including the arts, science, sports, technology and communications. Engaging skilled professionals as instructors who support teens’ growth and development in an intentional and meaningful way. Aligning and maximizing the resources of an extensive network of public-private partnerships to support coordinated and sustainable investment in youth development through school- and community-based programming.
