Aloha,
Project Hawai'i, Inc., is a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers and solely supported by public donations. Our agency is hosting a charity event on O'ahu to help the homeless keiki stay clean and healthy while gaining the self-esteem and life skills to escape the cycle of poverty within their own lives. Our agency provides weekly services to the childrne living UNSHELTERED along the coast of Wai'anae and in Kaka'ako Park. Our services include providing basic life needs, such as hygiene products, food, hot meals, clothing and other living needs. Our agency receives severe emergency needs on a full-time basis, from needing tents, towels, living necessities, water, and so much more.
We are seeking volunteers for all levels of support to assure the overall success of these events.
Our Charity Event is going to be a Halloween Bash!! You can come in costume, and even win a prize!!

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR:

  • Volunteers to help secure prizes (major to door prizes). This can include making phone calls, writing letters or sending emails. We suggest start with people you already know.
  • Silent Auction support, 2 positions open: 1. Helping secure prizes from the auction, 2. manning the silent auction at the event
  • Volunteers to help with the social media and other advertising options to help make it a true success
  • Volunteers to help at the event, which can be from 4-8 hours...depending on station requesting.
  • Volunteers to PROVIDE and decorate the venue with a Halloween Theme...this is our first time to actually have a theme, so we are hoping for a group or club who would like to help us with the decorations.

Description

Project Hawai'i, Inc., is a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers to enhance the lives of children living in poverty situations on the islands of Hawai'i. Our public supported charity works year round to provide necessities to children living in substandard housing situations, such as tents on the waters edge, abandon vehicles, and make-shift structures hidden in the bushes and hills.

Our agency provides children with holiday parties, meals and services for all the major holidays including Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Other monthly services include providing emergency support, hygiene, food, clothing and outreach to the children living in homeless situations on 3 of the islands of Hawai'i, the Big Island (Hawai'i), Mau'i and O'ahu.

Project Hawai'i also provides educational and nutritional programs that include after school reading and tutoring programs and our summer camp activities. Children will also receive full back to school support from new backpacks filled with supplies, new outfits, and shoes. We also provide other educational needs throughout the year.

Project Hawai'i Summer Camp has ran for 15 years and won several dozen awards in nutrition and educational support. This program is our largest endevor and evolves year after to year to include even more learning opportunities to our keiki.
