We need your help! Opportunities are various and diverse! This is an extremely interesting and fun opportunity. We have every type of book you can imagine. We utilize our volunteers to help us prepare for location based and online book sales.
If you will offer your time, we will happily find an opportunity that you will love!
We have pre-arranged times to volunteer weekly. Each Friday, a trained volunteer will be available to assist you with identifying the project you are most interested in, and to provide training. The times are from 1:30 to 4:30 at the downtown Chattanooga Public library. Also, the first Saturday of the month from 1:00 to 4:00, a trained work group will be in place to assist newer volunteers.
We also offer flexible times and dates. We can work with your schedule!
Flexible times available. Even one hour per week would be of tremendous value.

About Friends of the Chattanooga Public Library

Mission Statement
Enrich the community through promotion and support of the Chattanooga Public Library.
Description
The Friends of the Library are community members who donate time and money to support activities such as literacy programs, special library events, professional development of library staff, and programs for special populations.
The majority of our fundraising dollars comes from the semi-annual book sale. Other funds received are from annual dues, memorial gifts, donations to the Friends’ Endowment Fund or special projects.
The funds are used solely for library needs that go beyond what is provided by the City of Chattanooga. Through the Friends' continuing volunteer efforts and financial support, the library has been able to offer the Summer Reading Program - an annual summer program for children, teens and adults promoting the importance of reading throughout the summer months.
