We invite candidates with a commitment to high-quality, affordable senior housing to join our volunteer Board of Directors. Our organization is a national leader in providing unique senior services and school readiness programs that are integrated with each other as well as the wider community. As a Director, you will help secure private and public funding to support and advance our intergenerational vision. Previous experience on a non-profit board is preferred but not required. We currently seek expertise in accounting / finance, fundraising / fund development. As a volunteer Director, you will play an important role in meeting critical needs for your Norwalk, CT neighbors.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend eight to ten board meetings in year, preferably in person. Review all board meeting materials in advance. Actively participate in discussion and decision making. (Board meetings are currently held the last Thursday of most months from 4:30-6:30PM.)
  • Participate on board committee(s)/projects. Collaborate, as necessary, with other board members on committee initiatives in between full board meetings.
  • Participate in fund development and board recruitment initiatives to ensure long-term stability of the organization.
  • Make a personally meaningful financial donation (no minimum amount) to the organization at least annually.
