ORGANIZATION: Northern Virginia Family Service

The Bilingual ACA Client Support Specialist manages the Health Marketplace information hotline to ensure clients receive timely responses and information about health care enrollment. Must be bilingual English/Spanish. Duties include:

  • Learn about the ACA program and enrollment process well enough to help clients navigate the system.
  • Help Health Marketplace Coordinator manager the Matketplace information hotline.
  • Answer phone calls, listen to back-logged voice messages and return calls.
  • Ask questions in order to assess the caller's situation and needs.
  • Determine and explain to client the best course of action to address their issues.

Typical client situations include: already enrolled, needs to enroll, applicant incomplete, etc.

Typical needs include: how to use insurance card, explanation of co-pay/deductables, how to enroll, enrolled but haven't received card, unsure what paperwork is missing, etc.

Due to high volume of client inquiries and training required perform the role, volunteers are asked to commit at least 8-10 hours a week spread over 2 or more days. Times are Monday thru Friday 9am-5pm.
