The YMCA's Community Schools Initiaitve is seeking dedicated volunteers to work in after school programs for the CPS 2014-2015 school year! We are currently accepting applications for the upcoming start of programming in September.
Volunteer Opportunities Include:
-Homework/Classroom Assistant
- Fitness Assistant
-Student Enrichment Assistant
-Adult Program Instructor
Our schools are located across the Midway Network in the Southwest neighborhoods of Chicago. The Y’s CSI program collaborates with Chicago Public Schools and other organizations to provide high-quality programs and services at partner CPS schools for students in grades K-8. The Community Schools Initiative bridges the traditional boundaries of formal and informal learning to improve student academic and social outcomes, empower families and develop strong communities.
Before we can consider any individual for a volunteer placement, we first ask them to complete the Volunteer Application. All volunteers must complete the application, along with satisfactory background and DCFS CANTS checks.
Volunteer placement is largely dependant on a CSI site’s needs, so we ask our volunteers to be flexible with their service school.
We are looking to bring quality volunteers to our students in order to strengthen and sustain offered CSI programming, and hope you will help us with this mission! It is volunteers such as yourself that ensure the future of YMCA CSI programming.
