Deconstruction is the hand demolition of buildings in the reverse order of their construction in order to carefully remove materials for reuse and recycling. This technique reduces the disposal of materials into landfills, and provides materials to resale in our ReStore. All proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity NWHC and the community! Deconstruction is labor intensive. It requires good communication and willingness to work in pairs and within an overall team. No prior experience is necessary. Deconstruction project locations vary and occur weekdays usually between 9 and 3. Deconstruction volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. All participants under age 18 must have an adult with them at all times.

Mission Statement
Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization. Our mission is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent and affordable place to live in dignity and safety. We will partner with families to build affordable houses in which they can grow in responsibility for their lives, and the lives of others as they help to strengthen neighborhoods.
Description
We build affordable housing and also run a used building materials outlet to raise funds to support this mission.
