Be a part of our Golf Tournament Planning Team! Team members plan and implement the event to be held in the Spring 2016 as a fundraising event for Tamarisk. A great SHORT TERM volunteer role as you work with a team between November and April/May. Assist with: Marketing, hole sponsorships, securing prize donations and event decorations/planning.

Connect with others by being a volunteer Companion! Families are waiting for your help! We are currently looking for volunteers who would enjoy serving families in the Anoka County area facing challenges of a life threatening illness. Tamarisk volunteers provide companionship for the ill person and regularly-scheduled respite for caregivers within the family. For approximately 2-4 hours a week you would assure the safety and well-being of the patient while the family caregiver is occupied or away. Volunteers meet with their companion and choose from a variety of activities like: play cards, watch a movie, listen to music, puzzles, or read while your companion rests. Training is provided.

The Anoka County RSVP connects people age 55 and over who want to volunteer with non-profit and social service programs in Anoka County who need volunteers. Volunteers enroll by completing a skills and interests checklist and these are matched to community needs. From the matches, the volunteer selects a volunteer job that is meaningful and fits.
