Cornerstone Assistance Network needs a Volunteer Development AmeriCorps*VISTA member to serve with Volunteers of America Texas (VOATX) (http://www.voatx.org/), which is located at 300 E Midway Dr, Euless, TX 76039.

Volunteer Position Start/End Dates:
November 4, 2014 - November 7, 2015

Pay:
$946 per month BEFORE taxes

Hours:
Full-time, 40 hours/week

Volunteers of America Texas (VOATX) is a faith-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals, families and communities reach their full spiritual, emotional and physical potential and wellbeing through a vast array of services that target the elderly, the intellectually disabled, those striving to overcome substance abuse, and those transitioning from correctional centers.

At VOATX, you will play a significant role in helping the organization sustain its volunteer engagement efforts, changing the lives of those served. Your duties will be to work closely with clients, colleagues and community members to develop a strong, sustainable volunteer program through the following activities:

1) Develop strategic partnerships with businesses, schools/universities, faith-based organizations/churches, service organizations, non-profits and other key community members to ensure support for our programs, staff and clients;
2) Provide volunteer engagement training for volunteers & staff;
3) Provide training to staff for volunteer tracking and reporting efforts;
4) Revise and lead program specific orientations;
5) Survey organization leadership, program staff, clients, and existing volunteers to assess volunteer needs opportunities, and capacity agency-wide;
6) Attend community/service fairs to highlight programs and volunteer opportunities;
7) Provide support to staff in the volunteer placement and tracking process, including processing of applications, providing orientations, tracking hours and conducting satisfaction surveys;
8) Provide support to staff and aid in planning service projects.
