Cornerstone Assistance Network needs a Resource Development AmeriCorps*VISTA member to serve with Volunteers of America Texas (VOATX) (http://www.voatx.org/), which is located at 4808 Yale St, Houston, TX 77018.

This is a great opportunity for you to embrace your passion for service and volunteerism while also gaining valuable experience within the non-profit community.

Volunteer Position Start/End Dates:
November 4, 2014 - November 7, 2015

Pay:
$946 per month BEFORE taxes

Hours:
Full-time, 40 hours/week

Volunteers of America Texas (VOATX) is a faith-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals, families and communities reach their full spiritual, emotional and physical potential and wellbeing through a vast array of services that target the elderly, the intellectually disabled, those striving to overcome substance abuse, and those transitioning from correctional centers.

At VOATX, you will play a significant role in helping the organization develop sustainable systems that will help it better serve clients & donors. Your duties will be to:

1) Assist in the development of a storytelling system to help articulate the organization's impact;
2) Utilize existing templates to draft grant proposals;
3) Develop strategic partnerships with businesses, schools/universities, faith-based organizations/churches, service organizations, non-profits and other key community members to ensure support for our programs;
4) Track and ensure that all donor cultivation and stewardship plans have been implemented and completed;
5) Assist with a holiday giving drive to secure donated gifts for individuals in our programs;
6) Assist with special events that support the organization;
7) Attend community events to represent VOA Texas;
8) Assist in the donor tracking process to ensure proper recording of donor activities

Benefits:
Health Coverage, Choice of $5,550 Education Award or $1,500 End of Service Cash Stipend, Relocation Allowance if eligible, Childcare assistance if eligible, Monthly Living Allowance.

Vehicle Requirement:
Vehicle needed for service. All applicants must pass a background, motor vehicle & drug screening; & provide their own reliable transportation & proof of insurance.
