There are 8 vacancies available. The volunteers will be needed on an intermittent basis. Volunteers will be checked out Adopt-A-Shoreline gear (gloves, litter grabbers & bags) to clean up shoreline at designated Adopt-A-Shoreline areas around Falls Lake. Volunteers will be expected to clean their section of shoreline at least 4 times annually. The volunteers in these positions have the option of cleaning up the shoreline on their own, or organize a group of volunteers to be responsible for their section.

Mission Statement
The Army Corps of Engineers is the steward of the lands and waters at Corps water resources projects. Its Natural Resource Management Mission is to manage and conserve those natural resources, consistent with ecosystem management principles, while providing quality public outdoor recreation experiences to serve the needs of present and future generations.
Description
We have various programs, activities and accomplishments. We manage our public lands consistant with the best natural resource management practices of the day. We observe and manage over 8 Bald Eagle Nest, several osprey nest, and also work to remove many invasive species from Falls Lake and land around it. Since Falls Lake is the primary source of drinking water for Raleigh and parts of Wake Forest, NC, it is also important to us to keep this water source clean.
