ORGANIZATION: Louisiana State Museum

  • 12 people are interested

Are you interested in the Louisiana State Museum’s exhibitions and historical collections? Do you have a passion for learning and working with the public? Are you seeking a rewarding volunteer experience? If so, then consider becoming a volunteer docent at the Louisiana State Museum. A history background is not required, just a high level of enthusiasm and an interest in learning. All docents are trained by the museum to give a wide variety of tours to a diverse group of museum visitors. Docents work a minimum of four hours a month on a flexible schedule and attend monthly educational meetings. Museum docents also become members of the Friends of the Cabildo and enjoy membership benefits such as free admission to all Louisiana State Museum properties and discounts on Friends of the Cabildo events. New docent training will take place Saturday August 16, 2014, so we encourage those interested to act soon to become part of this program.
