ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army San Diego Regional Office

Position Title: Senior Arts and Crafts Volunteer Instructor

Reports to: The Volunteer Center


Purpose/Goal of Position: To create and execute fun and educational art projects for Seniors at the Escondido Corps Community Center

Qualifications/Skills/Certifications Needed:

1. Prior experience in group instruction or teaching preferred

2. Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and participants

Duties/Responsibilities:.

1. Prepare a syllabus and daily lesson plans for each class, based on student needs and abilites.

2. Promote acitivities to seniors at The Salvation Army Escondido Corps Community Center.

3. Responsible for overall set up and clean up of activities.

4. Coordinate and promote art shows, viewings, and events to exibit art, as needed.

5. Supervise activities for seniors, with first priority in their safety, at all times following The Salvation Army's safety policies for working with minors.
