The Red Cross is able to fulfill its humanitarian mission and provide our services at no charge thanks to the generosity of donors. Our partnerships with the community, individuals, corporations, and others help provide us with the resources we need to ensure that we can respond to help those in need.
If you are an outgoing person with an interest in learning more about fundraising at a large non-profit then consider joining the Red Cross as a Fundraising Volunteer. These volunteers will attend various fairs, festivals, and events to help share the story of the Red Cross and the work that we do with our current and future donors. This is a great opportunity to learn how non-profits manage their fundraising activities and help use your skills to support the work of the Red Cross.

Mission Statement
"The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its congressional charter and the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies."
Description
The American Red Cross serves local citizens by responding to large (floods, earthquake etc.) and small (house fires) disasters and making sure victims have food, clothing and shelter. Our volunteers respond to disasters on the average of every 48 hours. We teach thousands of people each year in basic first aid, CPR and disaster preparedness. We take special efforts to ensure that our servcies are available to people whose native language is not English through the services of our Language Bank. Most of our direct services in all of these areas are provided by volunteers.
