About International Cultural Exchange Services

Location:

5556 Stage Coach Road, Concord, VA 32221, US

Mission Statement

International Cultural Exchange Services (ICES) was founded in 1991 by John J. Crist in Atlanta, Georgia. John had previously worked in Youth Exchange Executive Roles for over 10 years in the United States, based in San Francisco and Santa Barbara, California and internationally in Brighton, England, Madrid, Spain and Stockholm, Sweden.

For almost two decades ICES has promoted a more peaceful world by advancing international awareness and cultural understanding to thousands of exchange students from all over the world. ICES has become a leader in the field of youth exchange due to years of hard work, quality service, and caring hearts of our president and key ICES staff who have all been with ICES since its inception.

Description

ICESis designated as an official Exchange Visitor Program, and operates under the regulations of the United States Department of State.

ICES has been a member of the Alliance for International Educational and Cultural Exchange (ALLIANCE) since 1997.
ICES is governed by the policies of the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET). ICESPresident John J. Crist, in the photo above, has served two terms on the CSIET Board of Directors. CSIET is committed to Quality International Educational Travel and Exchange. CSIET establishes standards for operating International Travel and Exchange Programs at the High School Level, monitoring compliance, and disseminates information regarding International Educational Travel Organizations.
