What are the available volunteer and intern opportunities?
Volunteers and interns are welcome to partake in a variety of the following services:
* Medical Advocacy: Volunteers/Interns will provide regular medical advocacy coverage. Volunteer and interns will be responsible for providing emotional support, information regarding legal and medical options, and referrals to survivors requesting support in of the five hospitals we respond to in Plymouth County.
* Hotline: Volunteers/Interns will provide emotional support, information, resources and referrals to
individuals calling Health Imperatives’ domestic violence and sexual assault hotline for the duration of
office shifts.
* Court Advocacy: Volunteers/Interns may provide administrative assistance to staff at SAFEPLAN, a program located in Brockton District Court.
* Shelter: Volunteers/ Interns will provide administrative assistance to staff at our shelter, and may assist
in providing non-clinical programming and activities for shelter residents.
* Outreach and Prevention: Volunteers/Interns may be involved in:
- co-facilitating prevention workshops,
- run tabling events,
- assist with technical elements of outreach and prevention campaigns or events

Who we are:
Health Imperatives is a non-profit community based agency that provides vital health and human services to nearly 30,000 families and individuals each year from communities stretching from Quincy to Nantucket.
Health Imperatives promotes healthy, safe, and vibrant families and communities. We support families and individuals who are struggling to cope with the devastating effects of poverty and violence, individuals who are worried about their health and safety, and parents who may be unprepared for the challenges of raising young children. Our health, nutrition, and counseling programs provide help, hope, and opportunity to local families and individuals.
