Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community. Join the King Conservation District (King CD) at the Brandon Street Natural Area, a Seattle Park along Longfellow Creek. Longfellow Creek is one of the last salmon bearing streams left in Seattle. Bring a friend and meet new people while helping maintain trails, remove invasive species or planting native trees and shrubs.
Come learn about the forest ecology and the important functions that our urban forests provide. Volunteers will receive an introduction to different restoration techniques.
King CD will provide gloves, tools, water and light refreshments as well as volunteer orientation and project background. Projects take place outdoors so please come prepared for the weather with sturdy shoes.
