Mission Graduates is a nonprofit organization that increases the number of K-12 students in San Francisco's Mission District who are prepared for and complete a college education. Mission Graduates operates 4 programs throughout the year, each with amazing stories to tell. The Extended Day Program provides after-school support to students at 3 Mission District Elementary Schools. With a focus on photographing and documenting activities at these three schools, the Social Media/Communications Volunteer will assist with Mission Graduates marketing and communications to donors, supporters, volunteers and program participants. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement a Communications Messaging Calendar Manage Mission Graduates Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIN accounts Support programs in writing and posting a weekly blog post and a monthly newsletter article Photographing program events to be used on social media Required Skills: This position requires strong communication skills, experience with social media and ability to work independently. Skills that the Volunteer will build: This position will give the chance to build communication skills, as well as better understand social media and its importance to non-profit work.

Founded in 1972, Mission Graduates provides a wide range of afterschool, in-school, and summer programs helping to establish college education as an expectation and goal for every child. Each year, Mission Graduates reaches over 3,600 low-income children, youth, and families in San Francisco, emphasizing college as a means to achieve economic equity and strengthen the fabric of our community.
