Mission Community Beaconat at Everett Middle School provides afterschool and summer programming, school-day support, and parent engagement, through a collaboration of program partners. Mission Graduates, the lead agency for the Mission Community Beacon, is a nonprofit organization that increases the number of K-12 students in San Francisco's Mission District who are prepared for and complete a college education. As we embark upon new programming at Everett Middle School, Mission Graduates seeks a volunteer to support our social media and communications efforts at the Beacon. The Volunteer would be responsible for creating a communications calendar for the entire program, managing content from each of the partner agencies and documenting programming. The volunteer will also be creating content from the Mission Community Beacon website and facebook pages. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement a Communications Messaging Calendar Manage Mission Communit Beacon Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. accounts Support programs in writing and posting a weekly blog post and a monthly newsletter article Photographing program events to be used on social media Required Skills: This position requires strong communication skills, experience with social media and ability to work independently. Skills that the Volunteer will build: This position will give the chance to build communication skills, as well as better understand social media and its importance to non-profit work.

Each year, Mission Graduates reaches over 3,600 low-income children, youth, and families in San Francisco, emphasizing college as a means to achieve economic equity and strengthen the fabric of our community.
