United Way Readers

United Way Reader volunteers provide much needed reading practice with struggling first and second grade students in public elementary schools in Lafayette, Acadia and St. Martin parishes. Volunteers serve for one hour (30 minutes with one child and 30 minutes with a second child) on a weekly basis for a minimum of 10 weeks during the school year. The next training sessions are scheduled for August 27 and September 3 at United Way of Acadiana’s office.
