Food Fest and 5K - Help us enhance our annual Food Fest with a 5K run/walk on September 19, 2015. We need help with everything from supporting 5K participants to staffing food tasting stations and interactive demonstrations. Join our team as a coordinator or an event volunteer. 2 - 3 hour shifts throughout the day are available.

Description
Urban Oasis is rooted in community, strengthening the local food system that cultivates community health and economic prosperity through sustainable strategies. We are now officially a 501(c)3.
The big vision for Urban Oasis is to be a place where people can come and experience what it feels like to be part of and participate in a whole, healthy food system from seed to table and back to soil. The programs put on by Urban Oasis aim to provide ways for people to achieve better health, a greater sense of connectedness, and more economic prosperity.
Programs include community cooking classes, healthy food products, a sustainable, local catering program, childcare meal service, and education for sustainable food entrepreneurs. Through our programs and partnerships, Urban Oasis hopes to have a positive impact on our community, our food production, and our world.CAUSE AREAS
