On Dec. 7, 2014 the 27th annual Holiday Historic House Tour, sponsored by the Queens Historical Society, will kick off the holiday season with seven participating historic sites. Each site offers special activities, refreshments and a glimpse at what life was once like during the holidays at each of these NYC landmarks. Each site has its own unique story to tell along with special holiday programming for the tour.

The participating sites include: The Kingsland Homestead, Voelker Orth Museum, Bird Sanctuary & Victorian Garden, Lewis H. Latimer House Museum, Friends Meeting House, Flushing Town Hall, the Bowne House and the Louis Armstrong House Museum. Seven sites are located on a convenient, walkable loop in Flushing and the Armstrong House is a shuttle away in Corona.

Volunteer Description:

This year we are introducing Holiday Tour Attendants to help streamline the visitor experience. We hope to have a volunteer on each of the shuttle buses and at each site to help coordinate. No special skills are required. The ideal candidates are personable and well organized and won't mind using their cell phone to coodinate with site staff during the program.
