Did you know that more than 76,000 seniors in Iowa struggle with hunger? You can be part of the solution! Elder Services, Inc. is looking for Meals on Wheels driver assistants to help deliver daily hot meals to older adults in Johnson County. Volunteer driver assistants ride along with a Meals on Wheels driver and help navigate the delivery route, carry meals, and deliver meals. The amount of time required to cover a Meals on Wheels route varies and is dependent on route size. Generally, we ask that Meals on Wheels volunteers be available between 10:30AM and 1:00PM on the days they deliver. This is an excellent volunteer opportunity for people who want to see and feel the difference that their volunteer service makes in someone’s life!

Description
Elder Services, Inc is the provider of Meals on Wheels and Senior Dining to Iowa City, Coralville and North Liberty. As well as rural deliveries to Johson, Iowa, Cedar and Washington counties in Iowa to ensure those that are 60 years and over can remain safe, active and independent.
Our nutrition program provides upwards of 325 hot meals each day with roughly 150 of them brought to their homes with help of volunteers like you!
