HomeStretch will hold our 14th Annual Run The River 5K/10K Road Race in April 2015. We are currently seeking an a highly motivated, energetic, organized volunteer to serve as Assistant Race Director in 2015 with a commitment to serve as Race Director in 2016. This individual will work with the 2014 Race Director and committee to plan and execute all aspects of the race. The 2014 Race Director will stay involved long-term focusing on sponsorships.

Our annual race is the largest of three major fundraisers we hold each year. We host nearly 1,500 runners on a beautiful course along the river in the Sandy Springs/Roswell area. (see also http://www.runtheriver.org/)

"HomeStretch guides working homeless families with minor children in north metro Atlanta toward increased self-reliance and stability by providing life skills education, mentoring and supportive housing."

Description

HomeStretch is a nonprofit, 501c(3) agency that offers assistance for homeless families with children in the North Fulton community. We provide safe, stable housing (in duplexes and townhomes), as well as life skills classes and mentoring for families who have nowhere else to turn. Participants are expected to pay off debt, especially housing-related debt, and set up a savings plan.

HomeStretch matches a social worker and a team of volunteers with each family to support them in reaching their goals and attaining stability and permanent housing. HomeStretch was awarded the HUD best practices award for creating a program that truly makes a difference: temporary housing - permanent solutions.
