Volunteers tutor a first grade student for one hour on 3 Saturday mornings per month between September and March. A minimum 3-month (9 Saturdays) commitment is requested. Our mission is to instill a passion for learning among underperforming elementary students by providing exceptional reading instruction outside of regular school hours.

Omosaze's mission is to instill a passion for learning among underperforming elementary students by providing exceptional reading instruction outside of traditional school hours.
Omosaze engages dedicated board-certified teachers and trained volunteers to help transform children who were struggling with school into students who enjoy reading and demonstrate newfound confidence and success in academic and social endeavors.
Description
Omosaze provides three no-and low-cost, comprehensive reading intervention programs for students in grades 1 - 3:
- Reading Saturday
- Reading Club (After school)
- Reading Camp (Summer)
Each program provides:
- A small group format (6-8 students per class)
- Instruction led by certified teachers
- Evaluation for effectiveness
- Flexible scheduling that can be adapted to existing activities
- Vocabulary development, word recognition and reading comprehension instruction
- A structured instruction system - developed by an educational curriculum specialist - targeted to specific Georgia education standards
