The Guest Curator will work with an exhibition team consisting of the exhibition director, exhibition assistants and exhibition designer, constituting the exhibition team. Approximately 10 hours a week is needed to create a contemporary art exhibition with a purpose that is fun, entertaining and meaningful yet still provide a strong learning environment. Exhibitions include: "The Waste Land on Earth", "Visionary Women: Champions of Peace & Nonviolence" and "Address Unknown: Traces of Hope." The responsibilities include:
* Recommend educational storylines.* Recommend the exhibition title and subtitle that captures the essence of the exhibition.
* Prepare a curator's statement of approximately 150 words. This is not an artist's statement, but can include artist’s quotes and ideas.
* Prepare a shorter version of the curator's statement for the press release (approximately 50-75 words)
* Organize the narrative biography of the artist(s) for the press release
* Prepare a narrative biography of the exhibition team for the press release
* Write a 1-2 sentence summary of the exhibition for the postcard
* Write the artwork labels that identifies the individual artwork (artist, title, media, dimensions, price) and a short interpretative statement about the artwork, if applicable
* Make suggestions for art installation and design
* Assist with the installation
* Assist in putting the entire exhibition with images on-line
* Prepare a printed exhibition program or catalogue that includes the curator's statement, art images, all artist statements and a price list.

Unbound Visual Arts (UVA), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that enriches the Boston community with educational and inspiring exhibitions and programs.
Description
Unbound Visual Arts (UVA), incorporated in 2012, is the only community-based 501(c)(3) visual arts non-profit organization in Allston-Brighton. UVA enriches the community with educational and inspiring exhibitions and programs for cultural enhancement. UVA has over 180 artist and art enthusiast members. It has organized over 65 curated exhibitions related to cultural and/or contemporary social themes with a learning experience with interpretation for the audience. The exhibitions feature local fine art by living artists and an independent curator and exhibition designer. Past exhibitions, which are on UnboundVisualArts.org, have included Rejuvenation of Historic Landmarks, Beasts of Burden, Context of Community, Earned: Women in Business and Labor, EPIC Heroism, Healthful, Olympic SPIRIT, Song Cycles, Temptation of the Mind and Body, and Unlimited. UVA also organizes and presents and participates in other art related events, such as the City Heart Art Show and Sale for homeless artists, the Allston and Brookline Open Art Studios, and Prudential Center Fine Art Expo, and other art learning experiences. UVA has organizational memberships in the Americans for the Arts, New England Museum Association and MASSCreative and has received competitive grants from the Boston Cultural Council the last two years. It also received a Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) Festivals Grant to support its annual Mardi Gras & Carnival Celebration of the Arts.
