It’s that time of the year when we are recruiting for our fall fundraisers in Lakeland. Please consider participating as a ZOMBIE this year in one or both of these events. As always, we appreciate your support of Goodwill and the work that we do in the community.
OCTOBER 11 - Downtown Lakeland Zombiefest
We are searching for volunteers to dress up like zombies to man the Scare Zone. The event runs from 3-11pm and volunteers are asked to arrive in full costume 1 hour before the event begins. We ned 12 zombies to work this fast-paced event. Last year, 30,000 people visited the Scare Zone and we hope for just as many if not more this year.
OCTOBER 23-31 - Lakeland LSD Center, Drane Field Road
We need 15 volunteers to be a part of Goodwill's actor-driven haunted house. We need one victim in street clothes, one IT tech, a lab tech, a soldier for the fallout shelter and 8 zombies. Volunteers can participate just once, several times or every night.

Goodwill-Suncoast was founded in October 1954 in downtown St. Petersburg. We began by assisting a handful of people with disabilities to gain work skills and paychecks. Now we help thousands of people overcome a variety of barriers to employment through training and employment programs, low-cost apartment buildings for seniors and people with disabilities, work activities centers for adults with developmental disabilities, as well as rehabilitative community corrections programs. We have a variety or programs that support our community and contribute to community conservation through recycling. Goodwill-Suncoast operates 20 retail stores and three outlet stores to support all of our services and programs. We have volunteer opportunities available in many of our program areas.
