Hearts for Homeless

ORGANIZATION: Girls Incorporated of Orange County

Family Volunteer Project

In 2013, over 12,700 individuals were homeless over the course of the year in Orange County alone. With individuals being exposed to the homeless on a regular basis in our community, as an organization we feel it is important to educate the youth about this population at a young age.

This project will consist of assembling 50 care packages to include hygiene kits, blankets and gently used clothes and shoes. In preparation for the project our volunteer families will actively take part in recycling cans and bottles for the next month, so that we can purchase additional supplies or materials needed for the project.

On event day, volunteer families will have the opportunity to work with one another and experience the importance of giving back to the community. We will gladly welcome any individual, family, or group that is interested in assisting with this project. If you are interested, please contact Ashley Cashdollar at acashdollar@girlsinc-oc.org space is limited.
