- Space is filling up so apply as soon as you can! Join the Sexual Assault Resposne Team of Ocean County, New Jersey Now taking applications for training beginning February 1st 2016. Training will be 12 weeks, Monday nights 6-9 at Southern Regional H.S.

Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate (CSVA) role will be: Complete 40 hr training to be certified as a CSVA Take at least 3 on-call shifts a month to provide crisis intervention with survivors of recent sexual assaults on accompaniments at one of four Ocean County Hospitals, SOMC, CMC, Kimball Hospital, Brick Hospital, and Ocean County Police Department, and the Prosecutor’s Office, at any hour of the day or night. Give emotional support, information and referrals to survivors of recent sexual assaults through the hotline or in-person. Provide information regarding medical and forensic procedures, and options for reporting to police. Survivors are given the opportunity to make informed choices.

Provide support and information to family and others present who are with the survivor. Provide information on follow-up counseling and advocacy services available through Ocean County and St. Francis Community Center--Counseling Services Applicants must feel confident in providing direct assistance to victims., to listen to victims’ needs and then connect them with appropriate resources, including medical care, mental health care, legal advice and emotional support. CSVAs work with victims to help them make informed choices and then support them every step of the way.
