Join MCD in connecting with community members for our signature after-hours program, MAKE. On the third Thursday of each month, collaborate with artists and makers, explore unique themes and re-think materials through creative design projects. MAKE exposes visitors to abilities and interests they didn't know they had, in a social and hands-on space!
Volunteers will help guide visitors through new projects and welcome them to the museum. Available activities include materials prep and set up, arts teaching, greeting, and learning new skills.
Each nightly shift may be broken in half, 5-7:30 and 7:30-10.
Projects coming up include collaborations with In/Visible Talks, seasonal crafts, hand sewing, and more.

Vision:
The Museum of Craft and Design (MCD) makes creativity accessible to everyone.
MCD’s exhibitions and programs:
- Illuminate the creative process
- Question the conventional notion of art
- Inspire awe and spark curiosity
- Invite participation and collaboration
- Champion designers, makers, artists and risk-takers
MCD is the only San Francisco museum devoted exclusively to craft and design. Exhibitions present innovative craft and design in varied media, with interpretation and programs focusing on process and hands-on experiences. Since the museum's founding in 2004, MCD has dynamically brought arts programming outside of the museum walls and into community settings, engaging public events and spaces with a range of ideas, materials and processes.
