The Parent as Teachers Event Volunteers assist Parent Educators by facilitating activities, allowing more families to attend events.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare items for Group Connections/Play Groups including crafts, toys, and other miscellaneous items as needed
• Assist with set-up and clean-up including light lifting and moving of furniture
• Assist with the sign-up table providing sign-in instructions to families, creating name tags, and informing families of the day's events
• Man activity stations: engaging children in crafts; motor games; overseeing a snack station; encouraging family participation, etc.

Length of Commitment: Flexible

Time Required: 3-10 hours per month (Group Connections occur on Saturdays, Play Groups and prep time can occur during the typical work week.)

Qualifications:

• A positive attitude
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, not required

Requirements:

• Background and reference checks
• AZ Fingerprint Card ($65 paid for by volunteer; good for 6 years and is transportable)
