The Parent as Teachers Event Volunteers assist Parent Educators by facilitating activities, allowing more families to attend events.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare items for Group Connections/Play Groups including crafts, toys, and other miscellaneous items as needed
- Assist with set-up and clean-up including light lifting and moving of furniture
- Assist with the sign-up table providing sign-in instructions to families, creating name tags, and informing families of the day's events
- Man activity stations: engaging children in crafts; motor games; overseeing a snack station; encouraging family participation, etc.
Length of Commitment: Flexible
Time Required: 3-10 hours per month (Group Connections occur on Saturdays, Play Groups and prep time can occur during the typical work week.)
Qualifications:
- A positive attitude
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, not required
Requirements:
- Background and reference checks
- AZ Fingerprint Card ($65 paid for by volunteer; good for 6 years and is transportable)

Our office serves to connect volunteers with different opportunities across the valley. These opportunities serve our many different sites which work with different vulnerable populations including refugees, pregnant teens, and children in foster care.
