If you are 65 years of age or older (younger if at risk for falls), and are concerned about falls or have a history of falling, we NEED you! Become part of an innovative program brought to you after years of professional research and experience in fall prevention. Are you ready to take charge of your health and safety through this innovative program? You must be able to stand up from a chair, be able to walk independently (cane or walker is okay), and have a normal level of cognition. "Stay Well At Home" is a study being conducted by researchers at CSU, Fullerton, and is funded by the California Wellness Foundation. Nevada County is among the first to participate in this innovative program. Come be a part of it!

Make a Difference in Your Community!
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
