Big Brothers and Big Sisters are looking for Mentors for their Community Based Mentoring program. Only one hour a week can make a world of difference. Also, we are looking for a few Spanish speaking Mentors for one or two Littles. Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is one of the most enjoyable things you’ll ever do. Not to mention, one of the most fulfilling. You have the opportunity to help shape a child’s future for the better by empowering him or her to achieve. And the best part is, it’s actually a lot of fun. You and your Little can share the kinds of activities you already like to do. Big Brothers Big Sisters is always looking for adults to serve as mentors for the at-risk children of our community. A few Spanish speaking Mentors for one or two children are also needed. Give us a call and find out how you can help create bright futures for our community's kids. Skills Required: Enjoy mentoring and be able to commit to at least an hour per week. Make a Difference in Your Community!
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
