Help support the fight against poverty in our local D.C. community!
Community Family Life Services is searching for VOLUNTEERS today!
CFLS is a non-profit which serves the low-income and homeless families and individuals living in Washington, D.C. Our mission is to provide clients with the tools they need to move themselves beyond poverty and homelessness into permanent self-sufficiency by 1) providing short-term crisis assistance, and (2) empowering individuals and families to change their lives over the long term. Our holistic approach provides clients with education, skills and support from a committed staff, enabling each client to pursue his/her goals.
Many of our local community members have joined the CFLS team as volunteers, assisting on a daily basis with everything from food distribution to planning events.
We are currently searching for volunteers with strong writing, verbal communication, organizational and computer skills interested in assisting with communications and marketing tasks such as writing grant proposals, conducting foundation research, posting on our social media sites, and managing our monthly newsletter.
However, we would welcome others to volunteer as well. We are currently looking for a volunteer to help distribute clothing weekly as well! It is just a small commitment, but it still helps in a big way!
If you are interested in a volunteer position, or to find out how else you can get involved, please e-mail our Development Director at development@cflsdc.org.
