Bring your family and friends out along the beautiful Burke-Gilman Trail to join City Fruit as we make sure the urban fruit trees are well-taken care of for a bountiful harvest in the fall. The apples will be harvested and donated to local food banks and meals programs, along with pressing fresh cider.
What we'll be doing: Clearing away weeds and invasive plants (no blackberries this time!); digging, cutting, and mulching
Where to park: The Burke-Gilman Trail is the most urban of the urban orchards. The fruit trees stretch along the trails between Gasworks Park and the University Bridge. We put an address down for getting to the location, but it will actually take you to the Burke-Gilman Trail and 8th Ave NE where you can park and meet us under the canopy we'll have set up.

Description
Overview
City Fruit is a non-profit that works to build awareness about Seattle's urban canopy, cares for and manages of local fruit trees, and provides opportunities for the public to volunteer in the orchards. Fruit is picked in the harvest season and donated to the food banks and shared with the community.
City Fruit also works neighborhood by neighborhood to help residential tree owners grow healthy fruit, to harvest and use what they can, and to share what they don't need. City Fruit collaborates with others involved in local food production, climate protection, horticulture, food security and community-building to protect and optimize urban fruit trees.
