The River Park Foundation's Clean and Green Team has removed over 1,000,000lbs of trash from the San Diego River. Make a difference for the Environment, join us today!

The San Diego River Park Foundation is looking for volunteers to help with a cleanup of Forester Creek in Santee near Forester Creek which flows into the San Diego River and eventually the Pacific Ocean, taking trash and litter along for the ride. Join us as we work to make the creek, river, and ocean cleaner environments for wildlife and people.

All tools and supplies will be provided. Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty; a hat and sunscreen are recommended. The San Diego River Park Foundation is dedicated to fostering stewardship and appreciation of the region’s namesake waterway. In order to protect and enhance the San Diego River as a place for recreation, habitat, and nature discovery, we are dedicated to engaging people to be stewards of the River and working towards the vision of a 52 mile, river-long system of parks, open spaces, and community places.

Description

We organize many different volunteer stewardship activities each month. River Cleanups, native plant gardening, habitat restoration, volunteer leadership, water quality testing, outreach and education, special event committees, technical committees and more.
