Transitional Housing Corporation (THC) is seeking a patient, knowledgeable and flexible volunteers to tutor parents living in our continuum of housing. The parents in our program are typically in their twenties and thirties. Our adult tutoring program is designed to support adults seeking their GED (equivalent of a high school diploma), technical certifications or other academic endeavors. Since 2007 the median wage for workers without a high school degree has dropped 13%. For many THC parents, a GED is the next step to gaining housing stability and economic viability for themselves and their children.
