Albany Park Community Center is looking for Citizenship Program Tutors! There is no training required and tutors will be placed immediately with a learner who is on the path to citizenship. Tutors are needed to spend 2 hours with a learner, twice a week. Basic grammar and civics knowledge are the primary focus, and lesson plans and flash cards are provided.
Help us promote education and literacy in the Chicago area! We are a 5-minute walk from the Brown Line Kimball stop.

Description
Adult Education Programs: (General information about the Albany Park Community Center follows). The Literacy Programs of the Albany Park Community Center provide educational and supportive services to adults who seek to improve their skills. Courses taught are: --English as a Second Language --Basic Reading (in English) --Adult Basic Ed/GED Preparation (in English) --Citizenship Education --Family Literacy (Adult Ed, Parenting Skills, and Early Childhood Education all in one program) Adult Literacy Tutoring is provided by trained volunteers to learners ages 16 and older. Volunteers are needed throughout the year. Adult Education classes are taught by paid professional teachers.
