Beacon Hospice is looking for a few compassionate "BILINGUAL" individuals to provide companionship to our non-English speaking patients. We have a number of patients throughout Bristol County that could use a friendly visitor that is bilingual to share their native language and culture. Imagine the joy on a patient's face when he/she is greeted in their native language and is able to connect with another individual on a personal level.
Beacon Hospice provides quality end-of-life care to terminally ill patients and our volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team. Our volunteers sometimes read to the patients, watch TV, play games, pray, provide companionship and sometimes just hold the patient's hand and provide a calm presence.

No matter who you are, you've got something to offer hospice patients. Typically, the needs are simple - companionship and friendship, emotional support, someone to listen- but the small things you do can make an enormous difference in someone's life. Volunteers are supervised by a volunteer coordinator and supported by other members of the patient care team. The Beacon Hospice approach to care creates a patient and family environment of hope, comfort, and dignity. This approach is extended through our volunteers, who can make an enormous differnece in someone's life.
