San Diego Center for Children is looking a for volunteers to help out in the North County Academy garden. These children are placed at the Academy for their behavioral challenges and IEPs. Our therapists provide many different types of treatment and one of the ways we do this is through gardening. The children operate a garden and we need YOU to help volunteer to help assist them in their endevor.
Time frame would be:
Summer school-Any day of the week but Thursday 12:00-2:15. Summer school runs July 1st-July26th. Fall-Potentially Friday 1:15-2:15 but there will probably be another option throughout the week. Fall starts September 2nd.All volunteers would need to get a background check and tb test.

Our programs are delivered 24/7, 365 days a year on our campuses, in schools, at home and within the community - as it best serves the family. Our focus is on educating and training the child and family so they have the skills and knowledge to maintain their ongoing health and quality of life.
The Center is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, meeting the national healthcare standards for safety, quality of care and superior level of treatment. The organization is a member of the California Alliance of Child and Family Services. Additionally, our Academy is also accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC.)
