The Durham Food Bank holds a Kids Day event every 2nd and 4th Saturday from 10 am - 12 pm for kids ages 5 - 11 years old.
Volunteering at the Food Bank CENC is a wonderful way for kids to be educated on food insecurity in our local community and it is a great way to introduce them to volunteerism!
During Kids Day, volunteers will learn about the role the Food Bank CENC plays in eliminating hunger in North Carolina. All of the kids participate in an age-appropriate food sorting project. Some examples of Kids Day volunteer projects include repackaging bulk food into family-size portions (produce, beans, rice) or labeling food products with the ingredients (juice packets, cans).
Kids Day is a great opportunity for families and groups of all sizes!
