Refugee Welcome Project
Organization |
Description
Our community is welcoming many Hmong refugee families, and we need everyone's compassion and efforts to help make sure they all have the basic necessities for their new life here. One way to get involved is to take part in the donations drive. Used but useable items (things that are new, like new, or in good condition) can be donated to the project. How? 1. Contact us for a complete list. You don't have to donate everything on the list, but if everyone gives a little, it really adds up! So what's needed? Kitchen items, Bedroom items, Bathroom items, Living Room items, Household Cleaning items, Other Household items, Baby items, and School Supplies. 2. Take a look around your home and see if you have any items to donate to the project. Talk to your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors - see if they can get involved, or if they have any items to donate. 3. Start-up a donations drive to gather items on the list. You can do this by yourself, or with your friends, family, classroom, co-workers, church group, club, etc. 4. Let us know what you have collected and drop it off so it can be distributed to the refugee families in need. There's no minimum age for this opportunity, and is great for individuals, families, and groups. Interested in helping out? Let us know, and we'll help get you started.
