SNJ is currently seeking capable volunteers with experience working with elementary-age students. Specifically, we are seeking volunteers interested in leading small groups of elementary students on field-based studies at local natural areas, during the school year. Selected volunteers will undergo orientation and training with Sierra Nevada Journeys, which will include classroom and field program observation. Volunteering with SNJ is an industry recognized opportunity to build your skills in: research based methods of outdoor science education, inquiry-based instruction, facilitating hands-on science experiences, and leading teams of students in collaborative problem solving. Professionalism and a desire for excellence is tremendously important.
