School on Wheels is a non-profit organization that seeks to enhance educational opportunities for homeless and foster children in kindergarten through twelfth grade. We aim to close the academic gaps by offering academic support and supplies year-round.
School on Wheels is looking for dedicated people to volunteer tutor for one hour a week with homeless children and youth, and teens. The wonderful kids we serve are living in shelters, emergency drop-in centers and other locations throughout the Inland Empire. Our tutors are the "wheels" by visiting the children where they are at to provide tutoring.
No previous mentoring or teaching experience is required, just a willingness to make a real and lasting difference in a young person's life by helping them academically. And you will be volunteering with a student in an age range that you're comfortable working with for just an hour a week. For more info about School on Wheels and to apply online, please visit our website: http://www.schoolonwheels.org/ Thank you!

You can make a difference by supporting children who live in local shelters, motels, foster group homes, and vehicles.

You can also volunteer at our Learning Center in Downtown LA with staff and other volunteers. Many children go to the Learning Center after school and throughout the summer.
