Green Lifestyles Network, a 501 © 3 non-profit organization, and is looking for an Executive Director in training. This is the ideal position for anyone looking to gain on the job training and first hand experience in a key management position. We need at least one year commitment for this volunteer role. Your main job will be to act as a liaison with other team leaders to help us reach our goals and to represent us at events. Ideally you ought to be in Los Angelse but since we are looking for 2 people to be in this role, one person can be outside of Los Angeles. One co-director will provide administrative support to the organization. The Admin works directly with the Executive Board and Board Chair (BC) in order to support the organization's administrative needs.( this person can be located anywhere).

The other co-director works primarily with other team leaders and facilities meetings and conference calls and spends time developing communty outreach and attending events. (This person must be located in the Los Angeles area).

Since both positions can be done remotely, (except for face to face team meetings which take place about 6-8 times a year)you must be willing to learn Microsoft 365 which we use as our virtual office or at least be prepared to master it, or you will need to learn how to use Google Hangout.

The hours are up to you and at least 10 hours a week will need to be devoted to this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

General Office

• Answer all office phone calls and direct calls appropriately
• Maintain general office files and file necessary paperwork accordingly
• Follow up on all general emails from our website
• Sort mail and distributes materials appropriately
• Purchase all office supplies
• Provides support for events. May include securing a venue, distribution of meeting materials, purchasing food, managing the guest/RSVP list, working with celebrities etc.
•In charge of securing and setting up our booths at other organizations' events

Executive Support

• Provides general administrative support between the department team leaders and Board Chair
• Files all financial statements (along with the Treasurer)
• Acts as recording secretary for Board meetings (and helps plan the agenda) when the Board Secretary is not present ; prepares minutes for review by the Executive Board and then handles distribution of minutes to the board secretary.
• Creates, maintains and enhances administrative procedures, processes and systems to achieve the annual objectives and long-term goals of GLN.
• Maintains a Master Calendar for the organization and comprehensive records of key decisions, actions taken, agreements and other records.

Fundraising/Grant Support

-Updates GLNs donor database as directed by the Finance Manager or Treasurer
-Prepares thank you letters for the organization and solicits Board signatures when appropriate; ensures proper filing and mailing of all thank you letters
-Attends all fundraising events as needed

The ideal candidate must be cheerful, eager to learn and grow both professionally and personally and have a strong desire to create a new prototype for media rooted in the language of Peace based Communication Skills.
