National Stroke Association is looking for a Web Development Intern to join our team to support our non-profit website. This position will work with all departments of National Stroke Association, including Community Education, Fundraising, Advocacy and Marketing, providing the intern with a good general insight to the operations of a non-profit organization.
The Web Development Intern will support the Manager, Web Content and the Director, Marketing Communications in setting up email communications, testing and deployment of mass emails in Convio Luminate environment - including several e-newsletters, fundraising appeals and advocacy communications. Additional tasks include creating graphic assets and photography. Ideally the intern will be interested in Web Development, specifically in the non-profit space.
Skills and Qualifications Needed:
- Demonstrated interest in Web Development
- Basic knowledge of website structure and server-side programming languages is required.
- Hands-on experience in graphic/web design
- Proficiency with Adobe software (CS5/CS6 - InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Fireworks)
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with HTML, Drupal 7.0, Convio CMS and CSS is highly desirable
- Willing to commit to at least 6 hours per week at the National Stroke Association Office. Hours can be modified to accommodate internship requirements. Work from home potential if software licenses are available.
