Central Library Volunteer Deliverers

In a program titled Serving-Books, volunteer deliverers will be working in partnership with Serving Seniors delivery staff to hand deliver pre-requested library materials to homebound seniors in their homes.
Activities
- pick up ordered library materials at the I CAN! Center
- ride along with the Serving Senior staff in Serving Senior trucks delivering the materials (1-3 items, depending upon demand) to each individual participant
- distribute flyers and promote the Serving-Books program to non-participants
- provide potential participants with library card applications and Patron Profile forms
- turn in due materials, library card applications, Patron Profiles, and material request forms at the end of each shift
Desired Qualities
1. Works well with diverse populations
2. Experience with care giving a plus
3. Background check required
4. Minimum age: 18
Training and Support
Training will be provided.
Time Commitment
1 month, 2 hours/week
