Volunteer ushers assist or guide a patron from the bus stop, curbside passenger loading, or from the Library’s parking garage into the library and back.
Activities
1. Offer a helping hand to visually impaired patrons
2. Push a wheelchair
3. Walk with a patron for directional guidance
4. Wait with patron at busy stop or curbside until ride arrives
*Does not involve lifting and carrying patrons
Desired Qualities
1. Works well with diverse populations
2. Experience with care giving a plus
3. Background check required
4. Minimum age: 18
Training and Support
Training will be provided.
Time Commitment
6 months, on-call basis
