Are you interested in learning more about Medicare, while helping others in your community? The Medicare Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP) needs volunteers who love to learn, are computer savvy, and have a sincere desire to help others understand their health benefits. MMAP volunteer Medicare Counselors meet with Medicare beneficiaries and answer questions on Medicare, Medicaid, prescription drug plans, and Medicare fraud and abuse. Our volunteers experience the satisfaction of helping older adults and persons with disabilities solve their insurance issues and save money on healthcare. MMAP volunteers receive training and ongoing support so that they have the latest information at their fingertips. The Area Agency on Aging 1-B MMAP program is looking for people to serve at various locations throughout our six-county service area, with the greatest need in St. Clair County, Macomb County, Livingston County, and Monroe County.
