Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region was established in 1921 and assists individuals with barriers to employment go to work by providing jobs, training, and educational opportunities. The Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region AmeriCorps team focuses on serving economically disadvantaged individuals who receive job training and other skill development services.
The Retail Skills/TEACH Case Aide assists students in the Retails Skills and TEACH training programs. The Case Aide helps students with job search skills while in the program.
Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region has developed a transitional employment model named Retail Skills/TEACH (Training, Experience and Career Help). This program provides its students with work readiness skills and work experience designed to help more people transition into better paying permanent jobs.
Essential Duties:
• Responsible for instruction, assessment, and data entry assistance for Retail Skills/TEACH program participants maximizing the competitive employment opportunities and job retention.
• Helps recruit new students by holding "Meet & Greets" that introduce the Retail Skills/TEACH programs to interested members of the community.
• Meets with clients, fully updates Individual Plans, discusses employment and shares employment opportunities, coordinates job search preparations, and maintains the Retail Skills/TEACH caseload.
• Completes and maintains necessary reports and documentation for participant files.
• Reviews all pertinent intake or referral data to assist the participant in devising an appropriate vocational objective.
• Monitors and documents participant progress.
• Fields program related inquiries via phone and/or email.
• All AmeriCorps members at Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region are required to help organize and participate in team service projects one weekend per month.

Service Conditions:
Service conditions are an office environment that involves serving one-on-one and in groups with both Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region staff and students daily. The intellectual demands of the position include communicating with different individuals with different needs on a case-by-case basis daily. The use of computers, telephones, fax machines, scanners, and copiers are part of the daily duties.

• $1,155/month living stipend (before taxes)

Requirements:
• Ability to serve full-time for 10 ½ months (from September 1, 2014 to July 15, 2015)
• Serve 40 hours a week for a total of 1700 hours over the entire service term
• Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident
• Must be 18 years of age at the start of the service term
• Must pass required criminal background checks
